MADILL, OK-It was an emotional evening for friends and family of 19-year-old Skylar Briley. The Madill teen was killed in a crash near Mead this weekend.

Dozens of people gathered Monday night in front of the Madill Laser Tag and Arcade to remember Madill High School graduate, Skylar Briley.

"I've known him for 17 years and he's like a little brother to me and I know he would be happy with this."

Danny Hopewell organized the candlelight vigil for Briley. Hopewell said they grew up together and he was devastated when he heard about the accident in Mead that killed Briley Saturday.

"He's one of them type of guys, you can basically call him up if you need someone to help you out with something or just someone to talk to. He's the type of guy you can go to and count on," he said.

That's why Hopewell, and Briley's other friends spent Sunday and Monday collecting donations to help with with funeral costs. Sarah Clark stood outside for more than ten hours to show her support for Briley's family.

"I want everyone to remember Skylar for the great friend that he was. He was always, if we ever had any problems, we would always call Skylar and he would always be there. He's a great, fun loving guy and that's how he should be remembered," she said.

Both Clark and Hopewell said so far, they've collected over $4,500.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, there's nothing else to say, so much, just thank you," said Clark.

"We really ain't asking for much, just if you got a handful of change, that's a handful of change that's gonna help cover funeral expenses," said Hopewell.

If you'd like to help, you can make a donation at Brown's Funeral Home in Madill in Skylar Briley's name.
He will be laid to rest Saturday morning in Valliant.
