(BONHAM, TEXAS) -- Fannin County leaders met with residents Thursday morning to reassure them on the positive developments of Lake Ralph Hall.

The lake will supply 30 million gallons of water a day to Fannin, Denton, Dallas, and Collin counties. Some Fannin County residents argue that supplying so much water to the metroplex will take a valuable resource too far from home, but state Representative Larry Phillips reassured residents that sharing resources is a good thing, saying, " it means a lot to me what we're giving up so that the people South of us can be successful and we want them to be successful guys...we've got families that live down there..some of us work down there..some of us get our products down there..we want the metroplex to's a partnership here."

Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter and District Judge Laurie Blake also spoke on how Lake Ralph Hall will play a big part in a new eco-tourism initiative the county hopes to launch.
