SHERMAN, TX -- A case of West Nile has been confirmed in Grayson County.
John Teel with the Grayson County Health Department confirms that an 80-year-old Sherman man was hospitalized for 5 days in mid July, with the more dangerous strain of West Nile, or West Nile Neuro-Invasive.
The man was hospitalized in Collin County and has since returned home.
"We may not be able to determine where the mosquito bites took place, Collin versus Grayson, we do know that it is very fair to assume Mosquitoes in Grayson County are most likely carrying that virus just like they are in all of North Texas," said John Teel, Director of Health with the Grayson County Health Department.
The Grayson County Health Department has also confirmed that there may be another West Nile case in Grayson County.
