TOM BEAN, TX -- The former Tom Bean Police Chief, Michael Webster, is now behind bars for alleged crimes he committed while serving as Chief in Tom Bean.

Michael Webster was arrested Tuesday at his new home in Dalhart, Texas.

Tom Bean Mayor, Sherry Howard, and current Police Chief, John Hunt, tell News 12 that Webster will be charged with three felonies.

Howard says the charges stem from "the tasing of one of his [Webster's] officers in May of 2012, and the theft and sale of firearms from the Tom Bean PD evidence safe."

Webster was put on administrative leave in October of last year, after the entire Tom Bean Police Department went before the city council and presented a "vote of no confidence" against him. Howard says an investigation began at that time and Webster resigned that month.

The Grayson County DA turned the investigation over to the Texas Rangers.

Webster is now in the Dallum County Jail awaiting a bail hearing.
