PARIS, TX -- It's been 18-days since 29-year old Troy Gray, Jr. of Paris was reported missing and police now say foul play may have been involved.
Troy Gray, Jr.'s burned car was found on Lamar County Road 14760 on April 11th, hours after he was last seen. Police say that's a good indication that his disappearance is suspicious and foul play may have been involved.
"You can't really say it's a crime yet, but we are very concerned it's going to turn out that way," said Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley.
We spoke with Gray's mother, Annie Gray, just a few days after he disappeared.
"Somebody knows where he is, somebody knows what happened to him," said Gray. "I would like to see him again."
She and other family and friends have organized several searches throughout the area looking for Gray, even hiring a private investigator.
"At this point locating Troy has reached the point of being critical," said Private Investigator Chuck Foreman. "We need each and every person searching for him."
Detectives continue to ask that anyone who might have information in the case to come forward.
At this time they do not believe his disappearance is linked to the quadruple homicide last October.
"We're certainly not going to discount it and say oh no way or anything, but we don't have enough information to make a determination one way or another," said Hundley.
The family is issuing a $5,000 reward for any information that leads directly to his location or a conviction of any persons involved in his disappearance.
