The Marshall County Free Fair dates back decades and provides a great opportunities for young 4-H members in Madill, Oklahoma to get their start in showing livestock.
On Thursday, the fair grounds were bustling with 4-H members getting their animals ready for show.
Levi Shelby has been showing livestock for eight years and has participated at the Marshall County Free Fair since he can remember.
Earlier in the day, elementary students from Madill and Kingston came out to the fairgrounds.
Fair organizer David Sorrell says, its a great opportunity for the students to learn from 4-H members.
Sorrell credits the scorching summer for the decline in livestock entries but says the recent cool down brought out more fairgoers.
Sorrell says, "The fairs been going great this year because we've got cooler weather and thats the best part of the fair this year."
Livestock showing wrapped up on Thursday but antique tractor, produce, arts and crafts shows were still on display through Friday morning.
