DENISON, TX-- Free breast cancer screenings are now available to dozens of texomans in need.
The Grayson County Health Department said they just received a grant from the Susan G. Komen foundation to help with costs of mammograms.
The health department have screened up to 40 people in the past.
Any uninsured or under-insured women and men, can quality. The first step is an educational seminar on Friday, April 20th, at the health department in Denison.
They'll give exams, then health department will help those who qualify schedule a free mammogram at an area hospital.
"we never know year to year, no one does, if they will be funded and so we do have a lot of people that do depend on it and we are greatfull we will be able to have it,"
This same program is also going to be offered at Fannin County and Cooke Counties in the following weeks.
