DENISON, TX - To kick off their fall festival Denison will be holding a free E-Waste recycling drive.
From 9am to noon this Saturday, anyone harboring old and or unwanted e-waste like computer equipment and TV's are encouraged to stop by the south side of Denison City Hall at 500 West Chestnut St. to drop it off.
The drive is part of the Keep Denison Beautiful initiative and recycling committee chairmen Richard McGowan says it's each citizens responsibility to make sure that harmful materials don't reach our landfills.
"Old computers are rarely recoverable at any reasonable cost anyhow," McGowan said, "so if you know you've got something like this it's your responsibility to get rid of it and not leave it around to pollute the world with."
Materials acceptable for drop off include: computers, cables, electronics, printers, ink cartridges, wiring, scanners, mouse, keyboards, monitors TVs, household washer and dryer, flat irons, microwaves, lawn equipment, sound equipment and batteries. All items that operate with electricity, fuel, or batteries are accepted. No light bulbs. FREON $35 FEE. E-waste recycling questions call Joan Meeks (817)300-6958 or firstname.lastname@example.org
