SHERMAN, TX - Grayson County Commissioners voted against a controversial request yesterday, they say could cost the county a lot of unnecessary money.

Commissioners denied the Grayson Central Appraisal District's request to buy an old grocery store and renovate it.
The appraisal district wanted to move into the building at 512 North Travis, because of structural problems in their current building.
While Commissioners agree it would be a good move, they did not agree with a 1.2 million dollar estimate of construction costs.

"If I'm going to remodel your house and I tell you it might cost you 100 thousand dollars, I don't think you're going to be writing me a check today, you're going to want to know exactly, and that's the problem we had here, we needed to know exactly." said Commissioner Johnny Waldrip.
