Gainesville child dies in accident
GAINESVILLE, TX -- An accident Saturday leaves a Gainesville toddler dead.
According to the Cooke County Sheriff's Office, 5-year-old Alex Ritchey was at home on County Road 162 playing with his older brother, when Ritchey got into his father's truck and somehow shifted the car into neutral.
Deputies tell us the truck started rolling backwards, which startled Ritchey. As he tried to get out, he was pushed under the truck as it was rolling backwards. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
