GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A group gathered at the Grayson County Courthouse Thursday morning, to participate in the national day of prayer.
This year's theme is "one voice, united in prayer."
Several county employees spoke, and sang patriotic songs.
Prayer Organizer and County Commissioner Phyllis James, explains why she's proud to participate.
James said, "You know in our nation today and to be able to pray together and read scripture together, I mean it's just uh. I know it glorifies my God and that makes me very happy."
An estimated, 40,000 separate events are scheduled throughout the day, across the U.S.
