SHERMAN, TX - The Grayson County Commissioners Court gave thanks for the county's volunteers Tuesday morning. The court recognized the latest graduates from the Office of Emergency Management's C.E.R.T. program.

The Community Emergency Response Team trains everyday citizens in disaster preparedness so they can assist first responders in a crisis. Commissioners also recognized the Volunteer of the Year, Moe Knight.

"If anybody listens on the HAM radio for weather reports, you will hear Mo's voice. He runs the net and gathers the information," county emergency manager Sarah Somers said.

The Grayson County Office of Emergency Management Wilmer Kinsey Volunteer Award is named for the previous volunteer of the year, Wilmer Kinsey, who lost a battle with cancer earlier this year.
