Gunter police awarded for "Operation Free Bird"

GUNTER, TX-An arrest made by police two month ago is coming home to roost.
The Grayson county district attorney's office informed Gunter police they'll be awarded about $6,000 and three vehicles seized from "Operation free bird" last May.
The vehicles will be auctioned off and the proceeds will be divided between Gunter police, Van Alstyne police and the Grayson county sheriff's office. Chief Bryce Kennedy said it'll be used to buy new bulletproof vests, breathalizers and other supplies. He said, of the 55 people arrested during that raid, 47 were indicted.
