H.F.V. Wilson Community Center's new after-school health education

ARDMORE, OK -- The H.F.V. Wilson Community Center in Ardmore is taking steps to implement healthy habits for the children attending this year. The supervisors will be giving nutrition training after the kids complete their homework each day. The Center will also be implementing more fitness related activities. Program Coordinator, Alicia Gilmartin, hopes helping the kids form healthy habits early on will help them into adulthood.

She says, "I'm hoping that will start now and then when they become an adult, it's already a part of their lives. They've already started making these choices and then that will help the obesity epidemic that's been going on."

The after-school program begins Wednesday.
