BRYAN COUNTY, OK-- The man accused of pulling the trigger in the shooting death of former Denison football star DJ Jones was sentenced to life in prison Monday.
On August 5, 2011, investigators say Hass and several others led Jones to a remote part of Bryan County before shooting him.
Jones' mother, LaTonya Walker, was at the court proceedings Monday and says she had a few words with Hass.
"Life sentence is not really enough, but we'll take that because with Alora Hix just getting 4 years, that was hurtful to us because in 3 years she'll be out. So I addressed him and I told him I hope there's a special place in hell for him right next to the devil," Walker said.
28-year-old Dustin Metcalf will head back to court in December for his alleged involvement in the killing. He also faces first degree murder charges.
