SHERMAN, TX -- Heritage Park Surgical Hospital employees gave back to their community by giving blood Thursday, June 7.
They hosted their own version of battle of the badges blood drive to Benefit the Texoma Regional Blood Center.
The nurses took home the victory after taking on all the other hospital employees to see who could get the most donations. 31 pints of blood were collected today.
Heritage staff say they're grateful to the community members who came out to donate.
"We're raising blood for Texoma Regional Blood Center, and that blood is used at hospitals and facilities across the area, and so they are one of the largest suppliers in the area So it's really important for us to get blood to them," said Kendra Sikes, manager of physician services at Heritage Park Surgical Hospital.
