GRAYSON COUNTY, TX - The holidays are a time of fun and celebration, but they can also be a source of stress and depression.
From shopping, to entertaining, to decorating, many of us overload our schedules during the holiday season. Couple that with financial strain and family stress and you can quickly find yourself with a case of the holiday blues. It is also a time when expectations are high and sometimes not met leading to anxiety, depression or exaggerated feelings of loneliness or loss.
Carla Fanning is a psychology professor at Grayson County College. She says having someone to talk with about holiday stress can be a big relief. "Just somebody that you can soundboard off of and vent to is always good over the holidays because there just a lot of crazy stuff that can happen," Fanning said."
Fanning also says predicting holiday stress can be helpful as well.
