DENISON, TX -- Another entity that is prepared for emergency situations is Texoma Medical Center.

"We are not looking for it to thaw out for almost a week. So, we have things in place," Donna Glenn said.

Here at Texoma Medical Center, Director of Emergency Preparedness, Donna Glenn, says the hospital kept an eye on the weather days in advance.

"This isn't common weather for us. So, there's a lot of people that don't know how to drive. So, we do have accidents and things like that," Glenn said.

Icy roads not only mean more patients, but more staff members without a place to go.

"We have things like this, cots and air mattresses in case we have to house our staff here," she said.

The hospital is also putting up employees at a local hotel.

TMC has stocked up on food and medical supplies -- items patients and staff members will need.

They say by taking these extra precautions, everyone inside the hospital will be taken care of for days to come. But, Glenn says the public can help them out by simply staying home.
