HOWE, TX -- The Howe City Council is examining their budget to see where they can save money so they do not have to cut city services.
Mayor Jeff Stanley says the city is not in debt now, but he does foresee shortfalls in the future. He says they believe the city is losing money in water and sewage expenses so to avoid options like raising utility rates and cutting the police force the council will see if they can cut back when it comes to water and sewage
"We've got to cut somewhere or generate some kind of money," Stanley said.
Stanley says once they council has come up with recommendations they will vote on those recommendations. No action will be taken until August.
