FANNIN COUNTY - Authorities in Fannin County are trying to identify human remains found on a man's property last week.
The Sheriff's office says human bones were discovered by the landowner in the southern part of the county Wednesday evening.
The remains were recovered by Sheriff's deputies along with a Texas Ranger.
Sheriff Donnie Foster says the bones have been sent to a forensic lab for testing.
Foster says Investigators are still working to determine who the person is and how that person died.
"At this point we really don't want to speculate on who we think the remains may be, from time to time over the years people come to be missing, in this county and other places as well, so we really don't want to speculate on who this may be." said Sheriff Foster.
Foster says this is an on going investigation.
Even though his office hasn't confirmed the identity of the remains, they have notified a few people in the area with missing family members, to avoid speculation.
