DURANT, OK -- Kellie Pickler gained fame on Fox's fifth season of American Idol.

The north carolina native just released her newest single, "Tough."

But the southern belle is into more than just singing.

In her first ever acting role, Pickler will appear on the October 18th episode of "90210."

Kellie is also very involved in supporting US troops through the USO.

Fox Texoma caught up with her before the show, to hear about her recent trip overseas to visit troops.

"It really makes you more appreciative, and more thankful for what they do. I've always had a great respect for our military but I came back having an even greater respect. We try to go over there at least once a year and take a little piece of home to them," said Pickler.

The next stop for Kellie Pickler and the JaneDear Girls is Nashville Tennessee to perform at the Grand Ole' Opry.
