DENISON, TX - The City of Denison is kicking off their annual school supply drive for kids in need. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce's Partner in Education Committee, the 5th Annual Kits for Kids Drive aims to collect school supplies or money donations to help kids in need.

Denison Chamber of Commerce president Anna McKinney says by the middle of the school year a lot of kids have run out of necessary supplies. Many families don't have the money to replace supplies, so teachers are having to provide them from their own pockets.

"Scissors, glue, markers, basics for our elementary students, all the way up to the high school, middle school, need binders, folders, different type of supply, we accept anything, we can put it to good use."

McKinney says donations can be dropped off at the Chamber building on Woodard Street in Denison through January 13th, and they need supplies for all grade levels.
