SHERMAN, TX - The reopening of the bridge over U.S. Highway 75 on Loy Lake Road near the Sherman Town Center has been delayed because of the heat.
The last slab of concrete that was supposed to be poured yesterday, but it didn't happen until this morning. TX-DOT says this week's triple-digit heat caused workers to have to take more breaks and that slowed down their productivity
The goal was to have the bridge reopened by 5 p.m. today in time for the heavy weekend traffic. Officials say they won't open the bridge until all the concrete is completely cured and the road is striped.
They expect the work to be finished late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
