Man arrested after allegedly stealing credit card and using in Bells and Sherman

BELLS, TX -- A Bells man is behind bars for allegedly stealing a credit card and using it in Bells and Sherman.

Authorities say Kenneth Edwards stole a purse from a car wash in Bells, then used a credit card at a Bells convenience store, and the Best Buy and O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Sherman.

Bells Police Chief, Scott Barrett, estimates around $800 was charged to the card.

Barrett says they identified Edwards as the suspect on surveillance video from the Bells store.

He says a tip led them to Edwards.

"The complainant who actually lives in Sherman sent a picture to one of his friends who lives here in Bells, a citizen of Bells, and that friend was driving by the post office here in Bells and saw a vehicle and subject that matched," Barrett said.

Edwards faces charges of credit or debit card abuse.
