FANNIN COUNTY, TX -- The man who led Fannin County authorities on a high speed chase ultimately resulting in the death of a Grayson County Deputy reached a plea deal with prosecutors Friday.

Clinton Espy pleaded guilty to three charges, including evading arrest and detention, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and manufacture of methamphetamine.

He received a 20 year sentence for each of those crimes and those sentences will run concurrently.

In April of 2013 Espy led police on a chase from Highway 121 in Bonham to Highway 82 in Sherman.

Grayson County Deputy Chad Key was directing traffic at that crime scene when officers say he was struck and killed by suspected drunk driver Ricky Trent Stanley.

District Attorney Richard Glazer tells us what's next for Espy.

DA Glaser said, "We expect that he will serve most of the years because of the aggravated incident."

The murder trial for Rickey Stanley, the man suspected of drinking and driving, before hitting and killing Deputy Chad Key is scheduled for February 3rd.
