Man in Atoka Co. scuffle charged with attempts to kill

ATOKA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA -- A man who was shot yesterday during a scuffle in Atoka County is being charged with two counts of attempt to kill.

Assistant District Attorney Greg Jenkins says that 33 year-old Daniel Craig Aills tried to run over his half-brother, 21 year-old Joshua David Hardy, and his mother, Loretta Hardy.

Sheriff Gary McCool says the altercation started when Aills called Hardy and threatened him.

McCool says the two met up at a home in the 11-hundred block of Beaver Creek Road.

A fight broke out and shots were fired.

The fight then went outside, where McCool say Aills got in his truck and tried to run them over, and Joshua Hardy shot Aills in the shoulder and torso.

Aills is reportedly in good condition.
