DENISON, TX - A new Texas state law requires new college students under the age of 30 to prove they've had a meningitis vaccination.

The Grayson County Health Department will hold a meningitis shot clinic at Grayson County College from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. The cost is $25 per student, and it's first come-first served.

Marketing director Shelle Cassell says there are a very limited number of vaccinations. If you miss out, she says you might be allowed to stay in class until you can get one.

"The law does allow for some exceptions and some exemptions and things like that so we will work with each individual student on trying to get them in their classes and keep enrolled and then following up when the dosage is available," Cassell says.
