SHERMAN, TEXAS -- More than a thousand Texoma 5th graders were treated to a concert by the Sherman Symphony Orchestra Thursday.

Students from Grayson County and southern Oklahoma clapped and hummed along to classical music and holiday tunes at Kidd Key Auditorium, getting a first-class music education.

This is the twelfth year the orchestra has hosted this Children's Choir.

Conductor Daniel Dominick hopes this opens their hearts and minds to the arts.

"We try to educate them in how to use the instruments, what they sound like individually, what they sound like as families, what they sound like all together," Dominick said.

The Sherman Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Pops program is December 7th and 8th at Austin College.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. You can order them online at
