Mount Pleasant man was taken by helicopter after car accident in Paris

PARIS, TX - A Lamar County man suffers a medical episode on the road, causing one vehicle to ram into a bank.

Around 11 this morning, 46-year old Jerry Delaney of Mount Pleasant was driving east bound on Lamar, when he lost control of his vehicle.

Delaney ran through a gas station parking lot and hit a curb on North Collegiate Drive, causing his vehicle to go air born.His vehicle then struck an SUV in the People's Bank parking lot, the SUV then slammed into People's Bank.

Police say the man was taken by helicopter to a hospital with facial trauma. The passengers in the SUV were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Authorities are trying to find what caused the man's medical episode.
