SHERMAN, TX - Results are in for the third national prescription drug take-back day held on October 29th.
The D.E.A. says more than 188 tons of unwanted prescription drugs were collected across the country. Almost 500 tons of medications have been taken out of households since the initiative began 13 months ago.
Drugs that could have otherwise fallen into the hands of abusers or polluted the environment. More than 53 hundred state, local, and tribal law enforcement sites were set up around the country, including the Sherman Police Department.
If you missed the collection, there will be another national take back day in the Spring.
