DENISON, TEXAS -- Denison city council could decide tonight whether to build a new state-of-the-art fire station.
The proposed $1.6 million dollar station would replace the current station, which was built in the 70s.
The current station isn't able to house fire trucks and equipment of today's proportions.
Denison City Manager Robert Hanna says although the city didn't win grant money for the new station, residents wouldn't have to pay extra for it.
Hanna says the city has already spent $170,000 dollars to design the station, they just need council approval to move forward.
