BONHAM, TX - All signs are Bonham is trying to makes the city safer. City leaders say just a few weeks ago they put up five new stop signs to help eliminate traffic accidents.
Three new stop signs were installed on South 5th Street, one at the intersection of Texas Street and Austin Avenue, and another at West 3rd Street and Star. Mayor Roy Floyd says the new signs are already making a difference.
"I had a call yesterday from a guy who said hey I appreciate you putting up the stop signs on 5th Street because it kept me from getting into an accident yesterday, and I said well that's a great thing," Floyd said.
The mayor says the city is in the process of redoing a lot of the streets in hopes of keeping drivers both safe and comfortable.
