New teachers welcomed in Denison

DENISON, TX-- 30 New Denison teachers were welcomed to the community by the Denison Chamber of Commerce, Wednesday.

The annual "New Teacher Luncheon" helps newcomers get to know the area with a town wide scavenger hunt, a catered lunch and local company giveaways.

Denison Superintendent Dr. Henry Scott along with all the school principals..attended the event at the Knights of Columbus hall.

Special Education Teacher from New Mexico, Molly Cook, says she is looking forward to starting the school year at Golden Rule Elementary.

"I'm excited about the new year just to be in the environment where people really really care about the kids and are doing what's best for them so it's exciting."

The Chamber will also be co-hosting a breakfast with the Denison Education Foundation for all DISD faculty and staff on Monday, August 15th.
