ARDMORE, OK - As the summer heat rolls into Texoma, OG&E has a way for you to save money on your electric bill.

The new program is called Smart Hours.

OG&E hopes customers will sign up and use less electricity during the peak hours of 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June through September.

A spokesperson for OG&E said people who take part will receive a much lower rate during the other 19 hours of the day and the program could save the average customer nearly $200 dollars this summer.

OG&E spokesperson Kathleen O'Shea said, "For example, let's say you are going to do your laundry, well maybe you wouldn't do it between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. If you could wait until after 7 p.m., say at 8 p.m., you would be paying a much lower rate."

To sign up for the Smart Hours program visit: www.ogepet.com or call 877-898-3834.
