SULPHUR, OK -- SULPHUR, OK -- The Oklahoma State Department of Health completed its investigation into the sale of seven Bluetick/Coonhound mix puppies after one tested positive developed rabies.
A spokesperson says the other six puppies that were sold at the Bivens Dog Trade Flea Market in Sulphur all tested negative for rabies.
Spokesperson, Pamela Williams, says all the dog owners were contacted but none had been exposed to the disease.
She says there have been 41 cases of animal rabies in Oklahoma this year, five of those in dogs.
Williams says the state health department recommends all pet owners keep up with pet vaccinations.
