Rep. works to help keep Guard jobs

OKLAHOMA--More job protection may be on the way for those who serve in the Oklahoma National Guard.

Representative Sean Roberts says he plans to file legislation to protect public officeholders from losing their jobs if they are called on for active duty in the Oklahoma National Guard.

The measure is in response to a former state representative, who had vacated his job when he was mobilized earlier this year to lead a combat adviser team in Afghanistan.

Roberts says his legislation will ensure that an officeholder wouldn't be required to vacate their position if called on for active military duty.
