SHERMAN, TX -- A building infested with asbestos will not be torn down.
Grayson County commissioners court voted down the bid to tear down the old SISD building in Sherman.
Commissioners say it is just too expensive to tear it down, costing the county about $400,000 because of the need to abate asbestos.
Commissioners say there are no immediate plans to do anything with the building, and there is a small possibility it could be torn down next budget year.
