PARIS, TX-- Police are taking extra precautions to keep Paris residents safe during the winter storm.
Paris Police and city staff met Thursday, preparing for the possibility of icy roads.
Police remind residents to make sure they have plenty of food and water in their homes. Also have extra batteries for flashlights, in case the power goes out.
"The best advice would be to stay home, said Assistant Police Chief Randy Tuttle. "Don't get out into this weather unless you absolutely have to, we hope that people made plans before this weather came in."
Paris Police will be issuing warnings via text or email through the codeRED system and also posting information on their Facebook page.
