Paris Police special tribute to fallen officer

PARIS, TX -- Paris Police found a unique item hidden in their evidence room that has led to a new way to honor a fallen officer.

Earlier this year officers found the uniform of Officer David Roberts, who was killed in the line of duty in 1985.

Police Chief Bob Hundley decided to encase his patrol hat in the briefing room, reminding officers the dangers of the job.

Assistant Chief Randy Tuttle, is one of three active officers that served alongside Roberts before he was killed.

"We will never forget David," said Tuttle. "Faces change here at the police department, people come and go as we well know. As long as we have this tribute to him, David will be here in our hearts and memories."

Tomorrow will mark the 28th anniversary of Officer David Roberts death.
