PARIS,TX -- We now know the name of the man who was shot and killed by a Paris police officer on Wednesday.
The police department along with the Lamar County Sheriff's Office were investigating a large amount of drugs being delivered to Paris.
As officers moved in on 59-year-old Christopher Lane Nash's truck he allegedly tried to escape by ramming a police vehicle.
Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley says the man was endangering officers and one of them was forced to shoot the him. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police also charged Nash's passenger, 35-year-old, Tina Marie Silva of Dallas with Delivery of a Controlled Substance greater than 1 gram in a Drug Free Zone, Possession of Marijuana greater than 2 ounces in a Drug Free Zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The shooting is under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
