DURANT, OK - Durant police were called to a local donut shop this morning after a vehicle crashed through the front of the business.

Lt. Carrie Wyrick says shortly after 8 a.m. officers responded to the call at Dandy Donuts on North 8th Street. A pickup driven by an 18-year-old man accelerated quickly when he put it in reverse. The wheels then cut to the right, and the pickup went up an embankment.

The truck pushed one of the booths all the way to the back wall. Five people were inside, and three of them were injured. The most serious injury was to 63-year-old William Boone, who was flown to Plano Medical Center with arm injuries.

The driver told police that something felt and sounded weird right before the acceleration. The vehicle will be impounded to check for defects.
