KINGSTON, OK -- The company that promised to build a resort in Lake Texoma State Park 5 years ago is scheduled to make their last payment on the land in two months.

Pointe Vista's $2 million dollar payment is due to the Commissioners of the Land office in mid January.

Making this payment would mean they have title to two areas of the park.

However, the CLO says accepting the final payment does not end Pointe Vista's obligations to the area.

Oklahoma Senator Josh Brecheen hopes the company will meet their May deadline to have the promised four-star hotel and conference center 90 to 95 percent completed, or find someone else who will.

Brecheen said, "To do what's right in the best interests of our area. Either get the hotel built in a timely fashion in a matter of months on the deadline or help us as a state find someone who will because our area is suffering."

No construction has begun on the project.
