ARDMORE, OK - Ardmore Police said Friday afternoon a 16-year-old boy shot dead last night was murdered, and they have arrested the man they believe pulled the trigger.
Ardmore Police and medical personnel responded to the 3400 block of South Commerce at 6:30 Thursday evening. According to Sergeant Ryan Hunnicut, they found the body of 16-year-old Rashaad Jackson, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The shooting is believed to have occurred at the residence. The circumstances surrounding Jackson's death are still being investigated.
Late Friday afternoon, the Ardmore Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Santana Labron Burris (pictured, above) as a suspect in Jackson's murder. Ardmore Police undercover investigators were able to locate and arrest Burris at an apartment in the 1100 block of Holiday Drive NW in Ardmore. He was initially wanted as a person of interest in the case.
Burris remains in custody and charges are expected to be formally filed on Monday.
