Pontotoc County holds Health and Safety Fair

ADA, OK -- Local organizations and law enforcement came together today at the Pontotoc County Health and Safety fair.

Many organizations such as the Pontotoc County OSU Extension, Ada Regional United Way, the Pontotoc County Literacy Coalition, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and several county government offices, sat outside on the courthouse plaza to inform the community about different services they have to offer.

People who came out also had a chance to meet their local county officers and take tours of the courthouse, while enjoying free food from Citizens Bank of Ada.

April is County Government Month in Pontotoc County and District 1 Commissioner, Gary Starns, said it's important to know who to contact in your area.

"If you're having any problem with different things, you'll know which office to go to, and who to talk to," said Starns. "Whether it's taxes, roads, court dates, that way you'll know who to go visit with."

For more information about the different services in your community, contact your local government office.
