HOUSTON (AP) - Retail gasoline prices across Texas have jumped an average 14 cents per gallon in the last week.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price per gallon at the pump reached $3.38. Nationwide gasoline prices also rose, increasing 13 cents to hit $3.55 per gallon.

The association says Dallas and Fort Worth have the most expensive gasoline statewide at $3.41 per gallon. Drivers in El Paso have the cheapest gasoline at $3.14 per gallon.

Experts cite higher crude oil prices and production concerns as reasons for the hike in retail gasoline prices. Refineries are preparing to make the conversion to summer-blend gasoline.
