Savoy Police Chief resigns

SAVOY, TX -- Savoy's Police Chief has announced his resignation.

Chief Levi Cunningham made the announcement at a special city council meeting Friday night. A city council member says Cunningham is leaving to pursue other opportunities and that his resignation has nothing to do with recent complaints filed against him.

No word yet on who will replace Cunningham. The Fannin County Sheriff's Office will patrol Savoy in the meantime.
