Search ends for alleged Pontotoc County cattle thief

PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- The search for an alleged Pontotoc County cattle thief is now over.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Food and Forestry, Larry Smith Jr. turned himself into authorities around noon today.

Smith surrendered on 43 counts of larceny of a domestic animal and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony crime..

His bond has been set at a half million dollars.

Smith was wanted after allegedly stealing 99 head of cattle from well-known rancher Jet McCoy back in October.

Agency officers along with other law enforcement had been searching for Smith in Atoka, Coal, and Pushmataha counties.

Smith will go back to court on December 19th.
