SHERMAN, TX --The Boys and Girls Club of Sherman has moved into it's new temporary location at Fairview Baptist Church.

After their building's gym roof caved in under the weight of the ice.

Sherman Boys and Girls Club Director Mike Delong said, "Thank God that Fairview Baptist jumped out there and said that they would be willing to help us."

Fairview Baptist Church Pastor Eric Wyatt said, "We want to be here for the community. We want to be a light and a beacon for our community so this is one of those ways that we could do it."

Fairview Baptist Church saw the story on News 12 and decided to open their Christian Families Activities Center to the kids.

Monday was their first day to host the after-school program.

Kids we spoke with say they were sad to learn the Boys and Girls Club building was damaged but say they enjoy the new location.

The after school program runs Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm.
