SHERMAN, TX - Sherman police and the FBI are looking for a man who robbed a local bank Thursday afternoon.

Just after 1:30 Thursday afternoon, Sherman police say a man robbed the American Bank of Texas on Texoma Parkway at Fallon Drive, then took off on foot. Now police need your help finding him.

Police aren't releasing details of what happened inside the bank. We do know there were customers inside when the robber took the money, but no one was hurt. The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police searched the Midway Mall parking lot and carnival area right across the street from the bank because the man ran that way.

He's described as a white man, 5' 5" to 5'7". He is 40 to 55 years old. He was wearing a white shirt with a green stripe, a camouflage hat and sunglasses.

"Once the witnesses lost sight of him we just wanted to cover, canvass the area to see if anyone else in the area saw anything or if maybe by chance we would be able to locate the suspect still in the area," Sgt. Bruce Dawsey with the Sherman Police Department said.

If you have any information or have seen anyone matching that description, you're asked to call the Sherman Police at 903-892-7281.
