SHERMAN, TX -- The Children's Advocacy Center in Sherman got a helping hand Thursday.

The Sherman Police Department and Texas Roadhouse donated money raised from their fundraiser last month.

Denison and Sherman Police Departments battled each other in a rib contest.

Sherman won and got to donate the money to the nonprofit of their choice.

"This is an opportunity that Texas Roadhouse approached us as the Sherman police Department and to have a competition with the Denison Police Department for our favorite charity. And we chose the CAC and this is a great opportunity to help them out because they do so much for us," said Captain Ken Francis, with the Sherman Police Department.

The Children's Advocacy Center says they will use the money on furniture for their upcoming expansion.
